"The Light" is a song that means a lot to me. I wrote it when I was 23 or 24 and missing New England autumn when I was living in Seattle. Fall has always been my favorite season, but on a deeper level it makes me truly happy and I feel like I am home. This song reflects that in an ambient, thoughtful and immersive way. Singing with Sherry, adding reverbs and effects to this simple guitar and vocal song was thrilling for me and brought my intentions to life.
“Twilight” is a song that I played on my keyboard as an improvisation one day and I liked it so much I decided to keep it, stored in my music program on the same page as another song. Turns out that other song was “The Light” and it was a happy accident when I played them both and they went so well together! Sherry and I loved how the 2 songs melded together and so decided to keep them that way. "Twilight" continues the feel and adds to the meditative ending of the song.
