Who is North Woods?

North Woods, a duo from the Boston area, is a collaboration between two individual singer-  
songwriters who brought their different styles together to create their own unique sound.  

Sherry Aviles and Christina Taylor created North Woods in 2016. Their mix of rock, folk,  
entwining harmonies, virtual instruments and a touch of classical influences defies  
classification but offers a satisfying, sometimes haunting sound that is uplifting and thought  
provoking. Their sound alternates between sparse and complex as their songs delve into the nature of the mind, yearning and relationships, as well as  
encouragement, wisdom and empowerment. 

 

Christina Thomas Taylor

Chris is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer who endeavors to 
create atmospheric music that transports the listener to another place and time. Her main 
instruments are piano and guitar as well as virtual instruments to create exotic and haunting 
sounds. 
She also works as a solo artist under the name Octoberture, writing, recording and producing 
her own music as well as songwriting and producing for other artists.  She lives with her family outside of 
Boston, MA.
